Last Ward 2009 Habitation Velier

This rum was distilled in Mount Gay distillery with triple distillation still. Ward family owned the distillery for over 100 years. In 2007 Frank Ward started distilling Mount Gilboa rum using a new method and then age it in ex-bourbon casks. In 2014 the family sold their Mount Gay distillery, and Velier repurchased 18 barrels of that rum then. It was aged for 9 years in a tropical climate, which helped the angels to take 64% for their share. It was bottled at cask strength and unsweetened.
