New Zealand Whisky South Island Single Malt 25 YO

New Zealand is now one of the reappearing whisky regions of the whisky world. New distilleries pop up; they make exciting whiskies and want to share it with the rest of the world. Many years back, things were about the same there, but one day it all has changed: all the distilleries had to close. But thanks to some good people, we still have a chance to try some of the whiskies distilled back then.

South Island Single Malt 25YO comes from Willowbank Distillery in Dunedin, which closed in 2000. It was distilled from the local malted barley and aged for 25 years in American oak and bourbon barrels.
