Peat Monster Arcana

Peat Monster is one of the core range Compass Box whiskies. Once in a while, the company makes limited editions of The Peat Monster where they play with the idea and recipe of the original version. For Arcana they took three French oak custom casks, previously used for ageing their Highland blend, and filled it with cask strength Peat Monster. After more than two years the casks imparted creaminess, spiciness, hints of chocolate, and mellowed the smokiness. These experimental casks were blended with malt whiskies from Talisker, Miltonduff and Ardbeg. The final blend has hints of chocolate, cinnamon, gum, fruits, wax, dry smoke. There were 8328 bottles released.
